Who: undergraduates, post graduates and newly qualified fine artists. What: ‘One Hour’ - a contemporary arts event comprising of an exhibition, associated talks and workshops.

Project title and task for all exhibitors:
‘One Hour’

1. Each participating undergraduate, emerging artist or newly qualified fine artist (along with the A.P.T. members) will choose an hour to spend in a specific place. The method of choosing this hour will be to match the date with the time, using the 24 hour clock, hours, minutes and seconds. Example: 22:04:13 -23:04:13 / 22.04.13 / GK. This will become the title of the work and the initials at the end indicate the artist. The resulting work, in whatever form or media, must be made in response to the one hour spent in the chosen specific place.

2. A short text of 150 words (maximum), contextualising the individual approaches will be required from all participating members in negotiation with the A.P.T. Group. When: One Hour will be open to the public on the 6th, 7th and 8th September 2013. Where: Fermynwoods Water Tower, with partnership links to Fermynwoods Contemporary Art through the inclusion of the Sudborough Green Cottages, Brigstock, Northants.

Background: the A.P.T. Creative Practice research group is producing work for this exhibition and event. Curated by Graham Keddie, ARBS. Opportunity: develop new work, work alongside professional artists/researchers, gain experience of a multisite arts event. Those wishing to join the project will need to take part in the mentoring programme. Selection for the final exhibition will be judged by the A.P.T. committee.
